The armistice

The march to armistice
It is the withdrawal of Bulgaria, asking the French of the army of the East for an armistice on September 25, which will give the signal of the German renunciation.
On September 28, Ludendorff asked the Chancellor to make a peace request to Wilson on the basis of the 14 points.
The request leaves via Switzerland on the night of October 3 to 4, 1918, and asks President Wilson to "take in hand, on the basis of the 14 points, the restoration of peace."
Several requests for clarification followed by responses were exchanged until October 23, when the allies were officially seized. The latter naturally had many points to clarify. They turned to Foch and the generals commanding the alliance forces to finalize a text.
Paradoxically, at that time, Ludendorff, and then, Hindenburg, decided to break off negotiations. On 25 October, Wilhelm II accepted Ludendorff's resignation.
