The defenses of Verdun in February 1916

From August 1915, the Entrenched Camp of Verdun was transformed into the Fortified Region of Verdun ; this site lost part of its artillery and various supplies. The circular defensive organizations had to be transformed into linear organizations and the few divisions that remained in Verdun did not have the time to carry out all the positions; however Joffre, not very convinced of an attack on Verdun, nevertheless reinforced the means just in case! Here, on the right, two 75 mm turrets and an observation tower of the fort of Vacherauville.
