Short biography of Pierre Wittmer

Pierre Wittmer lived for a long time in the house that his family owned in Yerres.
As art historian, he devoted himself essentially to the study of garden composition and architecture.
Locally, we owe him an erudite knowledge of Gustave Caillebotte and an important initial role, as well as studies on the heritage of Yerres: Camaldolese convent, Saint-Honest church, etc.
He authored several publications on Gustave Caillebotte:

Caillebotte au jardin [Caillebotte at the garden], 1990
Mon été avec Caillebotte [My summer with Caillebotte], 1990,
in cooperation with Sylvie Danaud
Caillebotte, un Yerrois célèbre… [Caillebotte, a famous man from Yerres], 1994,
for the city of Yerres

He curated several exhibitions on Gustave Caillebotte::

Brunoy and Yerres, 1987;
Paris, Brame et Lorenceau gallery, 1989 and 1998.

He is a member of several historical societies for which he regularly publishes articles like the one we are pleased to bring to your attention.
